Sept. 5 is Phonebank-O-Rama. GPAD's Day of Action!

The most important thing that all of us can do this fall is to volunteer for a campaign. And this year, the most important way to volunteer is to phonebank. GPAD is rallying our forces this Saturday, Sept. 5, from 10 to noon for a Day of Action: Phonebank-o-Rama. Help us call Democratic and Progressive voters in Palatine Township, urging them to vote for Biden-Harris, Durbin, Casten, and Trevor. And the Fair Tax! We'll be helping them get mail-in ballots, telling them where the new Palatine Early voting site is, and helping them get yard signs. And, it will be FUN! We must do everything we can to make sure that we win--and save Democracy. Sign up here.

Early Voting in Palatine Is at 150 W. Wilson Street, Near Palatine Metra Station

Greater Palatine Area Democrats is very pleased that the Village of Palatine and the Cook County Clerk's Office have agreed to hold Early Voting at a new site -- 150 W. Wilson St., a block north of Towne Square in Palatine. This location is an unused office building that was the site of the temporary Village Hall during renovation of the current Village Hall building a few years ago. Kudos to both the Village and the County Clerk for working together to move Early Voting to a neutral and safe location so that all residents can vote freely and safely. The move comes after the Village had declined to host Early Voting, as it had for many years, and after the Palatine Police Station emerged as the next location. Moving Early Voting to this office building will allow all residents of Palatine, including our large and growing communities of color, to be able to participate in November's election without fear. Voting rights groups strongly advocate against a police presence at voting sites. Thank you, Village of Palatine, and the Cook County Clerk's Office, for coming to a great solution. Now, let's get ready to VOTE!

Time to Protest at the Palatine Post Office--Aug. 22 at 11 a.m.

Save Our Postal Service! Save Our Democracy! 11 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, August 22. It's time to protest the malarkey at the U.S. Postal Service--the efforts of the Trump Administration to undermine trust in the U.S. mail and sabotage the November election. We're joining NWSOFA-Indivisible, MoveOn.org, and other groups across the nation for a rally at thousands of post offices. We'll be rallying in support of our postal workers and protesting efforts to slow the delivery of U.S. mail, threatening the delivery of mail-in ballots. Masks and social distancing required. Bring your signs, spread out along the sidewalk. Do not block postal business. Please park at the Palatine parking garage, 210 N. Smith Street, then walk to the Palatine Post Office, 440 W. Colfax. If you prefer, you can also drive by the post office, displaying your signs and making NOISE! Sign up here!
