Who speaks for the trees? Or the water? Or air? We won't have the Lorax from Dr. Seuss' classic story, but we will have a panel of three local and national experts who care a whole awful lot about our Great Lakes, air and forests. Our April 22 Science Matters panelists:
- Cam Davis, President Obama's Great Lakes Adviser and Commissioner for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District.
- Sri Rao, spokesperson for Stop Sterigenics, the community group that opposes Sterigenics, the Willowbrook company that emitted the carcinogen ethylene oxide until it was shut down temporarily this past February.
- Mark Krivchenia, Steward of Deer Grove Forest Preserve, member of the Sierra Club.
Sign up here for SCIENCE MATTERS, Monday, April 22. From 6 to 7 p.m. we'll make posters for the May 4 March for Science. The panel discussion begins at 7 p.m.
As Dr. Seuss said in The Lorax: "UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."
