One of the most powerful things we can do as Democrats is simply show up - in our neighborhoods, at community events, and in conversations with our friends and neighbors. When people see us out in the community, smiling, engaged, and ready to talk, it changes minds and builds the kind of trust that wins elections.
You don't need to be a political expert. You just need to care about your community and be willing to show up.
Why It Matters
Outreach works. When Democrats are visible in their communities - at parades, festivals, and on campus - it builds name recognition, earns trust, and reminds neighbors that we share the same streets, schools, and values.
Every yard sign noticed, every friendly conversation at a booth, every wave from a parade float adds up. Campaigns are won by margins, and those margins are built one interaction at a time. Showing up is how we win.

Parades & Festivals
There's nothing more visible, or fun, than marching alongside fellow progressives at beloved community events. Join us at:
- Memorial Day Parade - A moment to pause, reflect, and honor the men and women who served our country. Democrats are proud to march in remembrance and gratitude.
- Pride Parades - March in solidarity and celebrate the dignity and equality of every person in our community.
- 4th of July & St. Patricks Day Parades - Wave the flag alongside your neighbors and remind everyone that patriotism belongs to all of us.
Community Booths & Neighborhood Events
Our community booths give residents the chance to ask questions, pick up information, and connect with real Democrats who live and work alongside them. At our booths, you'll:
- Share information about GPAD, our candidates, and our values
- Listen and engage - outreach is as much about hearing people as it is about talking
- Connect neighbors with resources and answer their questions
No experience necessary - we'll make sure you feel confident and prepared before you ever sit down at a table.
Harper College Outreach
We're taking our message directly to the next generation of Palatine Township! During the school year we staff a GPAD table at Harper College once a month, where we connect with students and faculty by:
- Talking about the issues that matter most to young voters
- Sharing information about GPAD and what we stand for
- Helping students learn how to register to vote
It's friendly, low-key, and a great way to spend a few rewarding hours representing your values on campus.
Ready to Join Us?
Outreach events are open to everyone - new members especially welcome. Whether you're marching in a parade or manning a booth, you won't be thrown in alone. We pair newer volunteers with experienced members, and for booth events we'll walk you through everything beforehand so you feel comfortable and confident. At the end of the day it's just neighbors talking to neighbors - friendly, relaxed, and genuinely fun.
