While much of Hoffman Estates is in Schaumburg and Hanover townships, the village still has many residents in Palatine Township. The Village Board consists of the Village President/Mayor, and six trustees, all elected at-large. All positions are for four-year terms.

Qualifications and Residency Requirements: Registered voter, not in arrears in taxes to the village, or convicted of infamous crime, felony, bribery, or perjury. Need to be resident of the village for at least a year before the election.
