This Saturday! Get in your car and join the Voting Rights Motorcade! It's a nation-wide rally for voting rights this Saturday, May 8. Locally, we're meeting at 1 p.m. at the Sikh Religious Society, Palatine Gurdwara, 1280 Winnetka St., Palatine at 1 p.m. for a rally in the parking lot with our cars. Then, we'll drive to the DuPage Government Complex, 421 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton to hear civil rights veterans and activists, as well as Congressman Sean Casten.The entire event runs 1-4pm. Last Saturday saw terrific turnout for the first in-person meet and greet of the year with State Sen. Ann Gillespie, 27th District, and GPAD neighbor State Rep. Mark Walker, 53rd District. Thank you to everyone who turned out to chat with the legislators or dropped off donations of women's hygiene products. Sen. Gillespie is donating the items to WINGS on Northwest Highway.
