There are several ways you can vote. This page gives general information. The links will update with specific dates when we get closer to an Election Day.

1.  VOTE BY MAIL

Any registered voter can vote by mail. You can apply online for a mail ballot. Check the Cook County Clerk's office for dates  The last day to apply for a mail ballot is five days before Election Day. Click on this link and then follow the on-screen instructions.

If you prefer, you can click here to print out an application for a mail ballot in any of 12 languages. You can print it out, complete it, and mail it to the County Clerk.

When you receive your ballot, follow the instructions to complete it. You must mail your ballot by Election Day, but don’t wait until the last minute. Make sure your ballot is postmarked by Election Day. Please mail it within a few days after you receive it. That’s the best way to make sure your vote counts.

2.  VOTE EARLY

For two weeks before Election Day, you can vote at any early voting site in suburban Cook County or at the County Clerk's office downtown. Early voting sites in our area include:

     Rolling Meadows Courthouse (2121 Euclid Ave., Rolling Meadows)

     Palatine Village Hall (200 E. Wood St., Palatine)

     Hoffman Estates Village Hall (1900 Hassell Road, Hoffman Estates)

     Arlington Heights Village Hall (33 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights)

3.  VOTE ON ELECTION DAY

Polling places are open from 6am to 7pm. To find your polling place, go to the County Clerk's website and enter the information requested.

A resident who is not registered to vote may register and cast a ballot on Election Day thanks to same-day registration and voting. A person who wishes to register on Election Day must present two qualifying forms of ID.
