Register to Vote [restore after election]

As of July 1st, you can now register online to vote if you have an Illinois driver’s license or Illinois ID card issued by the Secretary of State. Go to https://ova.elections.il.gov to see whether you can register onliine.

You can also go to http://www.cookcountyclerk.com/elections/registertovote/Pages/default.aspx, where you can print out a registration form in English, Spanish, Hindi, Polish, Chinese, or Korean. Complete and sign the form and mail it to the Cook County Clerk, 69 W. Washington St., Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60602.

If you’ve moved, follow the same instructions but indicate that you are re-registering.

Registration forms must be received by October 7, 2014 in order to vote in the November 4th general election. After that date, you can only register at the County Clerk’s office and you have to vote at the same time you register. You can now register and vote on Election Day, but don’t wait that long.
