Empower yourself -- be a precinct captain for your neighborhood! Precinct captains are a powerful way to make the world a better place, just by talking to neighbors and letting them know how they can take action themselves. Greater Palatine Area Democrats and Illinois Sixth Congressional District Democrats are holding training for precinct captains in Palatine Township will be 7 p.m. this Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Northwest Democratic offices, 1310 W. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Now is a good time to rouse ourselves and get ready to help our candidates as they prepare for the 2020 Primary Elections in March. We Are Fired Up! to Take All Kinds of Action To Protest Treatment of People Seeking Asylum

WOW, what a powerful meeting we had tonight!! Thank you, thank you, Erika Burch for firing us up for individual acts of protest. Thank you to Alan Bosslet for sharing his daughters' experiences volunteering on the border. So grateful to Save the Children Action Network organizers Debby Brauer and Hal Snyder for sharing how SCAN is training them for higher levels of citizen organization. People left the meeting fired up to take action: from protest to running for office.  We are taking positive actions to make the world a better place!
