This Week: 2 Action Events for Gun Safety in Schools

Keep Tuesday and Wednesday nights open this week to take action for gun safety.

A day after a Palatine vigil on Tuesday to remember the 2012 school shootings in Newtown, Conn., Moms Demand Action will attend the District 15 School Board meeting in response to its plans to hire armed, retired police officers as safety officers and clerical workers. Armed personnel in schools is not a proven solution to fight gun violence. Demand a smarter response!

Tuesday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m. NWSOFA and Willow Creek Care Center's vigil, part of the Annual National Vigil to #EndGunViolence in Commemoration of the 6th Anniversary of the Sandy Hook Tragedy. The vigil will be held at Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist, 1025 N. Smith St., Palatine.

Wednesday, Dec. 12, 7 p.m., join Moms Demand Action at Dist. 15's board meeting, 7 p.m. at Walter Sundling Junior High School, 1100 N. Smith St, Palatine. Just across the street from the Unitarian Church.
